Five hubs. One goal: women leading in ports.
Women in Ports isn’t a single programme — it’s a coordinated system. Each hub tackles a different barrier. Together, they move the whole industry forward.
01Innovation
Innovation Hub
Preparing women for the digital future
Ports are automating. AI, IoT, and blockchain are reshaping every role — from operations to leadership. The Innovation Hub exists so women are building that future, not watching it happen to them.
We're creating a collaborative space where women can develop and pilot tech solutions, access training in emerging port technologies, and connect with the firms and academic institutions driving the sector forward. The longer-term goal: an incubator for women-led maritime tech start-ups.
02Research & Analysis
Research & Analysis Hub
Closing the gender data gap
You can't fix what you can't measure. Right now, the data on women in ports is thin, inconsistent, and rarely acted on. The Research & Analysis Hub is changing that.
We're building gender-disaggregated datasets, documenting what actually works, and producing policy recommendations that hold up at local, national, and global levels. Because evidence isn't just useful — it's the thing that makes institutions move.
03Advocacy
Advocacy Hub
Giving women visibility and influence
The women doing exceptional work in ports are often invisible outside their own organisations. The Advocacy Hub changes that.
We amplify women's voices through storytelling and media campaigns, build a speakers' bureau of female maritime experts, and campaign for the policy reforms needed to dismantle structural barriers. Visibility isn't a nice-to-have — it's what drives cultural change.
04Knowledge
Knowledge Hub
Building skills and leadership pathways
Career development in ports shouldn't depend on who you happen to know or whether your employer offers training. The Knowledge Hub builds the pathways that should already exist.
This hub is home to the Women in Ports Academy — certification programmes, leadership development, and global peer-learning. Our Knowledge-to-Action Labs take it further: turning what's learnt in the room into real-world pilots inside organisations.

Future Ports Hub
Women at the helm of the green transition
Ports are under pressure to decarbonise. The organisations that lead on sustainability will shape the industry for decades. The Future Ports Hub ensures women are in those rooms — not as afterthoughts, but as architects of the transition.
We provide ESG and environmental training tailored to port professionals, build global networks for women working in port sustainability, and run innovation challenges for women-led green port solutions.
All five hubs. One membership.
Join Women in Ports and access the full ecosystem — from Innovation to Future Ports. Free for individuals. Built for organisations serious about change.
